The College offers a model of collegiate education, drawing from the traditions of Oxford, Cambridge, and Trinity College Dublin, in which resident tutors live alongside students and assist them in their studies. Access to the intercollegiate tutorial programme, drawing upon the resources of the 11 residential colleges of the University of Melbourne and their tutorial offerings.

A significant tutorial programme, in which students are offered additional academic support (read comments from tutorial evaluation).

Academic mentoring, in which each student is offered the chance to meet with a mentor to discuss academic progress, subject choices, career paths.

Twenty-four hour access to tutorial rooms for study or discussion.

Visiting scholars and occasional seminars; meet and learn from those who have achieved distinction for excellence in their disciplines (Rhodes Scholars, Nobel Laureates).

An intellectually-stimulating environment in which to think and ask questions, and where discussion and debate on social issues have a place in our daily life. Speakers at college dinners in recent times range from Julian Burnside to Malcolm Fraser, Helen Garner to Peter Doherty.
